The service

LowBatteryTown pairs two anonymous people for a 7-minute chat, extended only when both agree. It is a beta: features and opening hours may change or pause, and a partner isn't always available.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older.

Your conduct

Follow the community guidelines. If you don't, we may end chats, pause pairing or restrict your use.

What you send

You are responsible for your messages. You let us process them as needed to relay them and to handle reports.

Not professional help

The town is not counselling or medical care. In immediate danger, call your local emergency number; for someone to listen, find a local helpline at findahelpline.com.

Voluntary support

Light a lamp is voluntary, one-time support through Buy Me a Coffee. Each Power costs US$5; choose the quantity on the support page. Payments are in US dollars, with currency conversion and fees determined by your bank. There is no automatic renewal and free chat and matching are unchanged. LowBatteryTown is run by an independent creator. Buy Me a Coffee handles payment details. For mistaken payments or refund requests, contact us using the email below or through Buy Me a Coffee with the transaction ID. Paid scene: the koi pond

• The koi pond is a paid home-page scene: a one-time payment of US$50 through Buy Me a Coffee, charged in US dollars (the amount in your currency depends on your card issuer's rate and fees), with no automatic renewal. Buy Me a Coffee handles payment details; we never see your card number.
• Within 24 hours of payment the operator e-mails an unlock code to the address you gave Buy Me a Coffee. Entered on the unlock page, it lets that device switch the home page to the koi pond; one code works on 3 devices.
• The koi pond shows only in a large window on a computer and only changes the home page picture. It changes nothing about matching, chats, extending or any other benefit, and it is separate from the voluntary “Light a lamp” support.
• Refunds: an unused code can be fully refunded within 7 days of purchase; after use, if it doesn't display properly on your device and we can't fix it, we refund it too. Write to the contact address on this page with your Buy Me a Coffee transaction ID. Once a refund or chargeback goes through, the code stops working and unlocked devices return to the street within about a day.
• The town is still in beta; if we ever stop offering the koi pond, we will announce it on the site first.

Liability

The service is provided as is. Each person is responsible for their own conduct; we act on reports but, as far as the law allows, make no promise about what others say or who they are.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), with the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.
