Anonymous Chat Guide and Frequently Asked Questions
LowBatteryTown, also called LowBattery or Low, is a free anonymous chat website for people with a low social battery. Its Chinese name is 低電量小鎮, shortened to 低電量. Here, low battery means the energy you have for talking and socialising. No sign-up is needed: choose a nickname and your current social battery, then sit one-on-one with someone who also wants to talk. You do not need to exchange contact details, and you can leave whenever you like.
Do I need an account or payment?
No account is needed and chatting is free. Use a nickname for this visit. Lighting a lamp through Buy Me a Coffee is voluntary, one-time support and does not affect matching or chat access. The beta is for people aged 18 or older. Before entering, confirm the terms, community guidelines and privacy policy.
Can I meet people here? How is it different from a dating app?
You can talk to a stranger with a nickname, but friendship or romance is not guaranteed. The town has no photo-based dating profiles, nearby-person search, friend list or partner lookup. Identities are not verified. Ordinary ended chats lose their messages and pairing details. If you want ongoing contact or a specific partner, consider these limits before entering.
What does social battery mean?
Nearly empty, a little left, and ready to talk describe your current pace. Your partner can see your battery and chat preference. Your battery is not a score or an identity.
How do I match with a real person? What if nobody is waiting?
Choose your nickname, battery and chat preference, confirm you are 18 or older, then enter the town. Matching requires another suitable real person to be waiting. Online visitors are not necessarily waiting, and immediate matching is not guaranteed. You can cancel waiting. If a companion is online, you may receive an invitation showing their nickname; chatting starts only if you accept.
How long can we chat? Can I leave early?
The first conversation lasts 7 minutes. It continues only if both people agree to extend it. You can say good night and leave at any time, without explaining why.
Is my partner a real person or AI?
The live town pairs real people. Companion invitations show the other person’s nickname and require your acceptance. The demo uses a clearly labelled simulated partner so you can try the flow.
Does anonymous mean no records? Can screenshots be prevented?
When an ordinary chat ends, the application immediately deletes its messages and both pairing profiles, and clears browsers that receive the end event. Evidence reported during a chat is kept for 180 days for review. Anonymous guest tokens, abuse-prevention counters and technical logs follow separate rules in the privacy policy. A website cannot reliably prevent screenshots or photos. Avoid sharing names, phone numbers, addresses or other identifying information.
What if someone harasses me or makes me uncomfortable?
You can leave at any time or report the conversation. Reporting ends the chat, saves its transcript for review and prevents the pair from matching again for 24 hours. The town is not counselling or an emergency service: for someone to listen, find a local helpline at findahelpline.com; in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
